osx mountain lion services

hello everyone!

i know you have been waiting to hear what i have to say for a while now. and fear not, because now i have something to say!

today i was trying to install a new service on my mac mini to help with documentation of my ios code. it was a giant pain in the butt so i’m here to help you not have that problem. the issue is not in any of the directions that are out there on the intrawebs on how to create a service, but in that they stop a step too soon. just know this — to enable the service you will most likely have to reboot your mac. annoying? yes. all that difficult? no. if there is a better way to get the system to properly refresh/reindex/enable services i haven’t found it.

good luck and happy servicing!
